Men fight outside bar after one is squirted with window cleaner: Westlake police blotter

Bar fight, Dover Center Road: At 12:30 a.m. Feb. 22, a 37-year-old Fairview Park man squirted a 38-year-old Westlake Park man with window cleaner inside a Westlake bar. The two then fought outside and the Westlake man ended up with a broken nose. The incident is under prosecutorial review. Identity theft, Georgia Drive: On Feb. 20, a Westlake man said he received letters from Michigan and Oklahoma saying he had filed tax returns in those states. He said he had Anthem insurance, which recently suffered a massive security breach. Shoplifting, Detroit Road: At 4:33 p.m. Feb. 21, the staff of a Detroit Road store caught a 42-year-old Cleveland man stealing $42 worth of toiletries. He was arrested on suspicion of petty theft. Accidental discharge, Cedarwood Drive: About 2 p.m. Feb. 21, a Westlake man was cleaning his .380 handgun when it went off, firing a round into a neighboring house with three people inside. Westlake’s prosecutor is reviewing the situation. Harassment, Dover Center Road: At 4:30 a.m. Feb. 22, a Westlake woman said her ex-husband, a 40-year-old Berea man she has a protection order against, kept driving by her home and throwing bags of roses and other items into her driveway.
