A number of media outlets report Garry Amey – who was found by two passers-by in the ocean at Wagnetti Beach on Saturday – is due to face court on numerous charges next month.
His wife of 38 years, Arlene Amey, says any charges would be news to her.
“I don’t know anything about it,” she told AAP on Monday night.
Earlier in the day Ms Amey described feeling “all the things you can think of” when she was told her 60-year-old husband – who went missing on October 11 – had been found alive.
The news was especially shocking after a search involving 30 SES volunteers, police and a helicopter was called off after 10 days without a trace of her husband.
