Three New York City residents were jailed onCREDIT CARD FRAUDcharges after they used fraudulent cards to purchase more than $2,000 in merchandise, according to Rock Hill Police. Shakera Louise Brown, 24, of Staten Island, 24-year-old Jewel Wilson of Brooklyn and 24-year-old Lashawn Ray Wilkerson, also of Brooklyn, were each charged with six counts ofFINANCIAL transaction card fraud, six counts of identity theft and five counts of conspiracy, according to jail records. All three remained in the York County Detention Center on Monday under $255,000 bond each. Officers responded to Best Buy on Chamberside Drive Friday after three people tried to use fraudulent cards to purchase merchandise andA GIFT CARD, according to a police report. The suspects fled in a black Nissan Altima that officers pulled over as it tried to leave the parking lot. The driver, Wilkerson, was “nervous and shaking,” police said. The vehicle was a rental; however, neither aRENTAL AGREEMENT nor the person who rented the vehicle were inside the car. Officers found four fraudulent credit cards in Brown’s phone case inside the car, police said. They found another fraudulent card and a list ofCREDIT CARD NUMBERS in Brown’s purse.
