Attorney General Buddy Caldwell announced today that two men have been arrested in separate incidents for crimes that victimized children. Christopher Cote, 32, of 70099 2nd Street, Covington, was arrested last week on one count of molestation of a juvenile under the age of 13 and on 35 counts of possessing pornography involving juveniles. He was booked into the St. Tammany Parish Jail. The arrest was a result of a joint investigation involving the Attorney General’s Cyber Crime Unit, St. Tammany Parish Sheriff’s Office and Homeland Security Investigations. If convicted, Cote faces up to 20 years in prison for each count of pornography involving juveniles. He faces a minimum sentence of 25 years in prison at hard labor for the count of molestation of a juvenile. “Our investigators and their counterparts from federal, state and local law enforcement agencies across Louisiana are doing everything they can to apprehend those individuals who would prey upon our most vulnerable citizens,” Attorney General Caldwell said. “My office is committed to utilizing the best resources available to continue capturing these predators and protecting our children.” In an unrelated incident, Danny Paul Williams, 31, of 400 Westside Blvd Apt. 204, Houma, was arrested this week […]
