UPMC Data Breach Affects 27,000 Employees

Though it’s not yet clear how the data was accessed, at least 788 UPMC employees have already been victims of tax fraud. The University of Pittsburgh Medical Center (UPMC) recently announced that as many as 27,000 of its 62,000 employees may have been affected by a recent data breach that exposed employee tax information, including Social Security numbers. University is taking serious on this very issue and working on discovery of the reason behind this loss.
