Mesa police say a 1-year-old boy has died from a gunshot
wound.
Police spokesman Sgt. Ed Wessing says two masked men went up to
a Mesa apartment early Monday near Horne and Main Streets.
A grandmother watching five young children was confronted by the
men. Wessing says the grandmother screamed and a gun that one of
the men was holding went off striking the boy. The men then took
off running.
A bullet struck the boy in the head and the boy died. Police are
interviewing witnesses.
