The Black Women’s Life Balance and Wellness Conference was founded in 2010, by Dr. Shanesha Brooks-Tatum, who serves as President. The annual symposium targets Black women who are seeking life balance and personal wellness. During the two-day experience, women will have the opportunity to network with one another, build partnerships as well as participate in various forums such as, life-coaching, mental health, physical fitness and organizational strategies for career success.
This year’s theme is Embody Beautiful: Healing our way to Happiness as every woman embodies beauty in her own way, yet in order to embody beautiful, they must “heal” to uncover true happiness. This healing can be physical, emotional, mental and/or spiritual.
The conference will begin with the Women’s Wellness Dinner on Friday, October 3rd at 6:30 p.m., which will feature Dr. Beverly Guy-Sheftall, renowned international speaker and activist, and pioneer of Black Women’s Studies. The anticipated wellness sessions will take place on Saturday, October 4th and promise to be inspirational and informative. “Participants can expect to leave this year’s conference transformed and inspired, whether it be from our honest dialogues, eye-opening keynotes, or from connecting with someone one-on-one,” says Brooks-Tatum.
