O’FALLON, MO. • A former employee of
Countrywide Financial has been accused of stealing a loan
applicant’s identity and going on a shopping spree.
Christine Rose Deblaze, 39, of the 100 block of Oakfield Drive
in O’Fallon, was charged Tuesday with identity theft of $5,001 to
$50,000, according to records filed in St. Louis County Circuit
Court.
Deblaze worked for Countrywide for a short time, officials said,
and allegedly gained access to the information between June 15 and
Oct. 16, 2010, when the victim applied for a loan through
Countrywide.
Deblaze is accused of opening several lines of credit in the
victim’s name, including one with Value City Furniture, where some
$6,600 in furniture was purchased.
