Mesquite’s Hacker approved as new NLV manager

NORTH LAS VEGAS, NV (FOX5) –

North Las Vegas officially has a new city manager.

Timothy R. Hacker was approved Wednesday to fill the role vacated by outgoing acting manager Maryann Ustick, city officials said.

The city council approved an “open-ended” contract for Hacker, which will pay him $180,000-a-year and benefits.

Hacker, who has worked most recently as Mesquite’s city manager, said he is looking forward to serving the city, especially during its time of economic uncertainty.

“I know this is a difficult time for North Las Vegas,” Hacker said. “But I am eager to get started on a chapter of economic recovery for our community.”

“Mr. Hacker has the skills and knowledge to bring the long-term solutions we need to rebound from these tough economic times,” North Las Vegas Mayor Shari Buck added.

Outgoing city manager Ustick was hired earlier this month as the city manager of Destin, Fla.
