IT Business Products : Samsung Leads STEM Education with a Million-Dollar Giveaway

As a global technology leader, Samsung knows the importance of math and science education and is dedicated to promoting enthusiasm for these subjects through its Solve for Tomorrow education program.

To affirm its commitment to advancing innovation in these key areas, Samsung has joined Change the Equation (CTEq) in its effort to answer President Obama’s call to improve science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) education for every child in the United States.

Samsung and its partners are addressing this critical education issue by asking teachers in public schools nationwide to submit a short application now through October 24, 2010, for a chance to participate in Samsung’s Solve for Tomorrow national video contest.

Fifty classrooms will be chosen to receive a Samsung camcorder and laptop, along with Adobe® Premiere® Elements and Photoshop® Elements software to create videos responding to the question: “How can science or math help improve the environment in your community?”

Winning teachers and students will receive a variety of Samsung electronics, Microsoft and Adobe software, and DIRECTV educational programming valued at over $1 million. As part of Samsung’s Hope for Children initiative, this concerted effort will promote math and science education as a path to fostering sustainable innovation.
