Job Summary

THIS POSTING WILL BE USED TO FILL THREE (3) POSITIONS

This full-time, permanent position, with the working title of Digital Forensic Examiner, provides computer forensic examination capability to the Internet Crimes Against Children unit. To assist federal, state and local investigations in identifying, seizing and safeguarding electronic evidence. To perform a full range of complex analyses of various types of electronic and digital evidence.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

1. Associate’s degree in Digital Forensics from an accredited school

OR

Bachelor’s degree from an accredited school AND coursework related to digital forensics

(If invited to an interview, candidates will be asked to provide unofficial transcripts of related digital

forensic coursework)

*Completion of degree must be completed by date of hire*

Preferred Qualifications:

1. Experience working with personal computer hardware and peripherals which includes installation, configuration, and maintenance

2. In-depth experience with Windows operating systems, Mac, and LInux

3. Basic understanding with computer networking concepts and terminology including TCP/IP networking

4. A+ Certification or related Microsoft certifications

Physical Requirements

Requires occasionally moving and transporting such articles as file boxes and heavy hand tools or heavier materials with help from others, and moving and transporting light objects frequently. Even though the weights being moved and transported may be a negligible amount, a job in this category may require positioning self to move to a significant degree or may involve maintaining a stationary position for extended periods.

This position requires successful completion of the following:

It is the policy of the Department of Public Safety that all employees submit to a background investigation prior to employment, which includes the following components:

1) criminal history

2) reference check

3) drug screen

4) fingerprint check

5) education verification
