Agent fatally shot at Puerto Rico gas station

PATILLAS, Puerto Rico — Agent Francis Crespo-Mandry was killed responding to a panic alarm at a gas station.

A 24-year police veteran, Crespo-Mandry and another officer found two armed suspects robbing the gas station Wednesday, according to the Officer Down Memorial Page. Both suspects fired shots at the officers, who returned fire. Crespo-Mandry was fatally wounded.

One suspect was injured and another remains at large, according to reports.

Along with his surviving wife and two children, Crespo-Mandry also leaves behind two brothers who serve with the Puerto Rico Police Department.
