Over the last few days and weeks it has become clear that a dark presence is haunting our IRC servers. Such a presence seeks to divide brother from brother in the heat of battle by generating lies and by playing one Anon against the other. We will not proceed to indulge in rumours or conspiracy theories: for to do so would be to consent to the whims of an unnamed detractor. But it is the place to say, now, that Anonymous WILL NOT stand for what it perceives to be as an attack upon the collective. We are here today to clarify once and for all, the following: 1. In an effort to sow dissension among the ranks of anonymous, we have taken note of a series of tweets claiming that one of our members, known only as hypotenuse, is a double agent. These rumours are false. Unfortunately, this lie was apparently started by a tweeter claiming to be a representative of Anonymous: AnonyOps. We ask today that AnonyOps claim responsibility for this imputent lie by addressing his sincere apology in the IRC to all who have been affected including hypotenuse. 2. Another malignant rumour concerns the identity of TheAnonMessage. Word has been going around that the channel is run by a quote: COINTELPRO agent. This is false.
