Australian hacker arrested

An Australian teenager and a 17-year-old Dutch boy have been arrested in a multinational sting operation targeting online hacking.

The boys were arrested last week after a tip off from a Korean student, who said to have been in a university chat-room when someone claimed to have hacked in to the Dutch Telecom firm (KPN).

They were arrested on suspicion of hacking into servers in nine nations according to South Korea’s Cyber Terror Response Centre.

KPN is said to have taken steps to minimise the damage caused by the boys.

The reason behind the cyber attacks remains unclear.
