12:19 P.M. — A Cape Coral man was arrested Monday on fraud and theft charges after deputies say he charged more than $1,900 to a woman’s credit card using a cloned credit card.

Wilberto Pinto, 42, is facing charges of theft, fraud and using an altered credit card.

The Lee County Sheriff’s Office was contacted on Dec. 6 in reference to a complaint there were 19 fraudulent credit card transactions made against a woman’s account totaling more than $1,900, according to a sheriff’s office report.

The woman told investigators she was still in possession of her card, which indicated a clone credit card existed.

Investigators obtained video surveillance footage from several Cape Coral locations including Walmarts and gas stations and identified Pinto as the suspect, according to the report.

Investigators searched his home and found several pages of hand-written credit card numbers.

Pinto used the victim’s credit card number to purchase items including beer, soda, ice, jeans, toys and fuel, according to the report.
