Powered by Max Banner Ads HYDERABAD: Soon, the city police will put a stop to its dependency on external agencies for want of sophisticated technology relating to cyber crime investigation. Be it banking and economic frauds, online stalking or even multi-level marketing and job scams, soon to be procured high-end technologies which include mobile and digital forensics software and tools would enable prevention and detection of organised crimes. A proposal prepared in this respect has been recently approved and a budget of Rs 10 cr has been allocated. It has listed as many as 15 state-of-the-art tools and equipment for prevention and detection of online organised crimes after studying facilities in Mumbai, Delhi, Pune, Ahmedabad and Bangalore etc. Some of the proposed tools or equipment are a write blocker kit, password breaking software, disk imaging, universal forensic extraction device, email forensic analysis software, and high-end mobile forensic software etc. Further, as part of another recent budget allocation made for renovation of all city police stations, the entire Cyber Crime Station (CCS) complex is also expected to be renovated.
