At a news conference, officials confirmed the arrest of Christopher Chaney, a Jacksonville, Fla. man — who was charged with 25 counts of identity theft. If convicted on all charges, Chaney could face up to 120 years in prison.
The FBI made the arrest as part of Operation ‘Hackerazzi,’ a push to investigate “computer intrusions targeting individuals associated with the entertainment industry.”
The hacks had been widely assumed to be the work of hacker groups like Anonymous, Hollywood Leaks or LulzSec. FBI officials did not specify that xxx had a connection with any of these groups.
