Approximately 2.6 million payment cards used at Michael’s locations were accessed, along with 400,000 cards used at Aaron Brothers. After a thorough analysis it was discovered that the reason behind was an attack by criminals using highly sophisticated malware which was not encountered previously by any of the security firm. Further investigation revealed that no other personal information was exposed in this crime. Michaels is committed to working with all appropriate parties to improve the security of payment card transactions for all consumers.
