Summary: The Director of Business Development assists in determining the future of the company’s business direction.  The Director develops, publishes, and manages the execution of CSPS’ strategic, marketing and business development plans.  The Director pursues, captures, and evaluates business opportunities for the continued growth and profitability of the company and recommends bid decisions to the President.  The Director develops a capture plan subsequent to a bid decision and leads the proposal effort in winning the opportunity.

·         Plan, design, and implement company vision, mission, strategy and tactics, in achieving goals and objectives.
·         Evaluate new initiatives, acquisition, and business opportunities and recommend courses of action to the President and executive staff.
·         Develops and integrates the strategic plan with the corporate plan; establishes goals, objectives and tactics in coordination with the staff in order to sustain the growth and profitability of the company.
·         Measures performance against benchmarks and revises tactics as necessary to achieve goals and objective.
·         Identify, develop, and evaluate marketing strategies that promote the company.
·         Conduct market analysis, monitor competitive activity, and identify customer needs and propose solutions.
·         Develops and integrates the marketing plan with the corporate plan.
·         Develop and participate in strategic alliances and other external business relationships.
·         Identify and develop opportunities for teaming with other companies in pursuit of business development objectives.
·         Creates marketing media and develops strategies to market the company to existing and future customers.
·         Draft and respond to sources sought and existing and potential customer requests for information.
·         Coordinate and integrate with company and proposal staff throughout the proposal development process.
·         Executes the marketing plan and measures performance against benchmarks. 
·         Must be able to work flexible hours to include weekends and holidays if needed.
·         Other duties may be assigned to meet business needs.
 
Supervision: This position does not have supervisory responsibilities.

Education and/or Experience:
 
·         BA/BS degree in Business discipline, Law Enforcement or equivalent required.
·         Minimum 3 years’ experience in business development or sales for a government contractor, Federal contracting, or working with the Federal government.
·         Must have a thorough knowledge of Business Development operations to include intimate knowledge of teaming agreements. 
·         Experience with Law Enforcement and Security operations and force protection systems  required
·         Complete understanding of the business development cycle and its relationship to Profit and Loss required
 
Computer Skills:
 
·         Skill in operating a personal computer and standard office equipment.
·         Must be highly proficient in a variety of computer software applications in word processing, spreadsheets, database, (MSWord, Excel, Access, PowerPoint), and Outlook.
 
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations, Clearance:
 
·         U.S. Citizenship
·         Must possess and maintain a valid state driver’s license.
·         Must possess and maintain a Secret Security Clearance.

Travel – The successful candidate will be required to travel up to 50% of schedule.  Travel could be for client meetings, site surveys or off-site development and proposal work, etc.  Travel will be IAW established Chenega policies.
