Gulfport man accused of credit card fraud

GULFPORT, Miss. —Police arrested a Gulfport man on the charge of credit card fraud after a four-month investigation found more than $7,000 of fraudulent charges. The Sun Herald reported that Willie Ed Smith Jr., 32, was arrested Tuesday when he turned himself in at the Gulfport Police Department. Sgt. Damon McDaniel said the investigation started Nov. 3 when the victim issued a complaint of unknown charges.
