    Role Summary/Purpose
    Supports Information Security/Data Protection incident response and forensic investigations. Responsible for goal delivery, project support and completion by maintaining individual project responsibilities. Supports Incident Response, Data Loss Prevention and Forensics team initiatives including metrics collection, software implementation, and reporting.

    Essential Responsibilities

  • Provide metrics and reports to keep the operational teams informed of status related to security incidents and forensics investigations.
  • Coordinates with the Information Security team to assist with security breaches and supply information and analysis as necessary.
  • Assist with computer incident response, investigation, and mitigation for GE Capital Americas following industry-standard processes and procedures.
  • Help drive initiatives designed to complete incident response and mitigation within agreed upon timeframe, analyze data as appropriate, and report findings to appropriate leadership.
  • Function as an advisor to consult with team leader and other stakeholders as to what capability exists to gather data for a given incident.
  • Understand GE Capital network, hardware, and software configurations so as to expedite incident response and investigations.
  • Work with the GECA (GE Capital Americas) Information Security Team on other projects and operational duties as time permits.
  • Work with forensics team in performing eDiscovery investigations as necessary.

    Qualifications/Requirements
    Basic Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree with 5+ years’ of IT experience.
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in the information security or related arena.
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills.

    Eligibility Requirements:

  • YOU MUST BE ABLE TO SATISFY THE REQUIREMENTS OF SECTION 19 OF THE FEDERAL DEPOSIT INSURANCE ACT.

  • Must have unrestricted authorization to work in the United States.
  • Must be willing to comply with pre-employment screening, including but not limited to, drug testing, reference verification and background check.
  • Must be willing to travel 10% of the time.
  • Must be willing to work out of an office in Irving, TX or Chicago, IL.

    Desired Characteristics

  • CISM, CRISC, or CISSP preferred.
  • Experience and/or certification with commonly used forensics tools.
  • Bachelor’s degree in an IT related field.
  • Board understanding of multiple technical platforms.
