Cyber crime is on the rise, with more and more crimes involving a cyber element. Jersey Police are trying to crack down on it by launching a campaign to enable islanders to protect themselves as much as possible. It will involve islanders being given advice on how to stay safe online. The campaign has four strands – young people, the elderly, home security and businesses. Each group will have targeted advice specific to them. It will start with a leaflet drop to every home in February with ‘Top 10 Tips’ for homeowners. Up to 80% of crime is easily preventable by making small and simple changes to the way we use internet technology. The advice we provide throughout the year will help you do this. source: http://www.itv.com/news/channel/2015-01-25/jersey-police-launch-cyber-crime-prevention-campaign/
