Kennesaw State students get racist with Yik Yak

It appears that certain students at Kennesaw State University have been using the Yik Yak application as a vehicle to abuse African-American students through racial commentary. Yik Yak is a local social bulletin board that shows the most recent posts from other users in your immediate area. The application allows anyone to connect and share information with other Yik Yak users, however many students have used this network to share gossip and hateful comments.

The photo above displays the hateful comments posted during a pool party thrown by black students, on April 12th, at the West 22 apartment complex. Here is what the executives of Yik Yak had to say; “It is disheartening to see that our app is being used in an unintended way”, says co-founder Brooks Buffington. “We don’t want to see negative events become the face of the company.”
