CHARLES CITY, Ia. — A convicted sex offender who was defeated in a Charles City school board election has been found guilty of sexually abusing a teenage boy. A jury found 60-year-old Doug Lindaman, of Charles City, guilty of third-degree sexual abuse Tuesday. He was accused of performing a sex act in 2011 on a 17-year-old boy without the boy’s consent. He is scheduled to be sentenced June 7. Lindaman was running for a school board spot at the time of his August arrest. He was convicted in 1988 on two counts of lascivious acts with minors. He’s not listed on Iowa Sex Abuse Registry, because his crimes occurred before the registry was created.
