DENVER – A 25-year-old man with a lengthy criminal history is in jail, facing charges for three shootings in two days, including a shooting of a dog. Investigators say all three cases were linked and solved thanks to the technology used by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives and the Denver Police Department to track shell casings used in shootings, along with the special task force assigned to investigate those cases, the Crime Gun Intelligence Center. RELATED: Crime fighting 2.0: A new way of solving shooting cases Anthony Dennis was arrested for the last one on Jan. 29, where he allegedly shot at a man. Investigators say shell casings from that shooting, as well as the two earlier crimes, make Dennis the alleged shooter in all three cases. The gun was never recovered. THE TIMELINE: 3 SHOOTINGS IN 2 DAYS Court records show the alleged crime spree began and was first reported on Jan. 27 in the 3300 block of North Milwaukee Street.
