New ZTE handset certified by TENAA lacks a camera

Some BlackBerry handsets have been offered by the manufacturer without a camera, in order to protect businesses that purchased them for employees. But ZTE isn’t known for selling to the enterprise like BlackBerry is, making the new ZTE S3003 seem a bit odd. The handset has been certified by Chinese regulator TENAA, and there is no camera on the back or on the front of the phone.

This could have been done by ZTE in order to bring the pricing down, but how much more would a camera module add to the cost of an entry-level handset? The difference could be about $10. Since the start of the selfie …
