In hope of a son, a rickshaw puller and brother of his live-in partner abducted a one-year-old from his home in Badshahpur.


The police nabbed the duo, along with the live-in partner, and rescued the child after almost 20 hours. The police have also recovered the bike which was used in the crime.


On Wednesday afternoon, Surte, a resident of Nand Market, Badshahpur, filed a complaint stating that the two men had come on a bike to get some home remedies for jaundice from him.
“One of them took my grandson, who had been sitting in my lap, while I was gone inside the house to get some food. On returning, the two men fled away with my grandson”, Surte told the police.


An FIR was registered at the Badshahpur police station and sector 39 crime unit swung into action.


The accused are identified as Sonu, alias Lolu (25), native of Taouru in Mewat, Rajkumar (25), native of Panna in MP, and his sister Seema (26). All three were living in a rented accommodation in Bhawani enclave, where they had hidden the toddler.


“The woman and Sonu have been in a live-in relationship after Seema’s husband deserted her. She had been demanding for a boy child and it was then Sonu hatched the idea to kidnap the toddler. ,” said Rajeev Deswal, DCP (crime). — OC
