A NEW STUDY LOOKING AT CYBERBULLYING FOR TWEENS AGES 9 TO 12 FOUND THAT 20 PERCENT EXPERIENCED CYBERBULLYING IN SOMEWAY
(CNN) – A new study has found that one in five tweens have experienced cyberbullying in some way.
The Cyberbullying Research Center teamed up with Cartoon Network as part of the channel’s Stop Bullying: Speak Up campaign.
They surveyed more than 1,000 tweens from the ages of 9 to 12.
20% say they were either cyberbullied, witnessed someone being cyberbullied, or did the bullying.
15% say they were targeted and most reported that it negatively impacted them.
This is the first time the Cyberbullying Research Center has studied tweens.
