FRANKFORT, Ky. (WKYT) – Governor Andy Beshear has provided a Monday update on COVID-19 in the state.

Governor Beshear announced a $551,000 grant to enhance the state’s VINE system, which provides information to victims of crimes. It will make services faster and confidentiality, security better. The state is currently seeing a 4.42 percent positivity rate.

Gov. Beshear reported 381 new COVID-19 cases on Monday, bringing up the state total to 48,396 cases. Of Monday’s new cases, 43 are in kids 18 or younger.

There were three reported COVID-19 deaths on Monday. The state death total is now 933.

Monday’s deaths include a 61 year-old man from Lincoln County, a 72-year-old woman from Martin County, and a 65-year-old man from Owen County.

There have been at least 877,443 COVID-19 tests performed in the state, and at least 10,375 Kentuckians have recovered from the virus.

As of Monday, 557 people are hospitalized for COVID-19 related reasons and 144 are in the ICU
