DAGSBORO, Del. – Delaware State Police arrested a Harrington man Monday evening after he was found in possession of a handgun and drugs during a traffic stop.
Just after 7 p.m., a trooper stopped a vehicle traveling westbound on Bunting Road after learning that the owner/driver, identified as 62-year-old Ivory Sauls, had an expired driver’s license. A consent to search the vehicle was provided, at which point the trooper found a loaded handgun concealed in the glove compartment, along with drug paraphernalia. Police say the weapon was loaded with 5 rounds with an additional 5 rounds located in a gun magazine holder. He was also found in possession of 7 oxycodone pills.
He was subsequently arrested and charged with possession of a deadly weapon by person prohibited who also possesses a controlled substance, carrying a concealed deadly weapon, possession of a controlled or counterfeit substance, possession of drug paraphernalia, and driving with expired license.
He was later released on a $5,500 unsecured bond.
