A Ludlow man has been arrested and charged with distributing child sex abuse material, United States Attorney Rachael Rollins’ Office said.
Robert Avrett, 41, was charged with distribution of child pornography. He was arrested on Monday, Nov. 21, and detained following his arraignment before U.S. District Court Magistrate Judge Katherine A. Robertson.

Investigators identified Avrett as the owner of a Kik messenger account that shared numerous videos containing child sexual abuse material to an undercover law enforcement agent, prosecutors said. The material that Avrett is accused of distributing depicted the sexual exploitation of minor victims as young as approximately three-years-old.
During a search of Avrett’s residence, the Ludlow man admitted that he was the operator of the Kik messenger account and that he used the account to share and receive child sex abuse material, officials said.
