MADELEINE McCann prime suspect Christian B will remain in jail as his appeal against a rape conviction has already failed, a German politician has claimed.
The 43-year-old convicted paedophile is appealing to the European Court of Justice but politician Ulrich Watermann says the court has already thrown out his bid.
A seven-year jail term for the rape of a 72-year-old woman in Praia da Luz, Portugal will start at the end of him serving time for drugs trafficking in January next year.
In a hearing at the ECJ last week, his lawyers had argued it was a breach of international law to put him on trial for the rape, with a final decision due in the coming weeks.
But Ulrich Watermann says the court has already made up its mind that the conviction is lawful according to the Mirror.
