U.S. District Judge Richard Gergel also ordered the 23-year-old man to pay $10,000 in restitution, half of which will go to the victim.
The girl’s mother first alerted authorities in September 2020 that someone her daughter met on Snapchat had encouraged her to send sexually explicit images, Shoemake said. The social media user pretended to be a minor, but FBI investigators determined it was actually White.
Law enforcement officers searched White’s residence and digital devices, finding the lewd images the girl had sent him.
“Investigators also discovered hundreds of child pornography images and videos on White’s electronic devices that he had collected from the internet,” Shoemake said.
White was indicted in July 2021 on charges of producing child pornography, enticing a minor and three counts of child pornography possession. He pleaded guilty in May to the enticement offense, which is punishable by 10 years to life in prison.
Gergel sentenced him Dec. 2.
