Project Ara’s delay may be due to phones failing drop tests

Google confirmed earlier this week that the first market pilot for its Project Ara modular smartphone would be pushed back from late 2015 to sometime in 2016. Now a new message on the project’s official Twitter account may have revealed that the reason for the delay was due in part to those smartphones failing drop tests.
