With in-store sales of Samsung’s latest Galaxy Note 5 and Galaxy S6 edge+ kicking off, the vendor has launched a new promotion called the “Ultimate Test Drive” aimed at getting iPhone owners to switch over to a Galaxy phone. Through this promotion — limited to U.S. residents — Samsung will be giving out a Galaxy Note 5, Galaxy S6 edge+ or Galaxy S6 edge (sorry, no standard GS6) to use completely free, including cellular service, for 30 days. (Sound familiar?)
The process of getting in on the Test Drive is pretty simple — just head to Samsung’s promotions site from Safari on an iPhone, tell it which phone you want to try, which carrier you use, and with a $1 “processing fee” you’ll have a phone shipped to you. There will even be a “smart switch” cable in the box to help you in getting data over to the new phone.
The shiny new Note 5 or S6 edge+ is yours to use for 30 days, without any obligation — naturally Samsung is just hoping you’ll love the experience so much that your next phone may be a Note 5 or S6 edge+. After the 30-day trial is finished, you’ll get a grace period of five days to return either handset using the shipping label provided by Samsung. Failing to do so will incur a charge of $820 (in the case of the S6 edge+) on your credit card, which is the full retail value of the handset. For all other damages, including a cracked screen, scratches or scruffs and any water-related damage, Samsung will charge $100 on your card.
