SUMMARY
The Digital Media Solutions Engineer s responsible for custom development related to digital media applications in use (Digital initiatives and moving towards file based solutions, Artesia TEAMS, Stellent Xpedio). The DMG Engineer must have previous experience in the development, architecture, and administration of digital asset management (DAM) systems, including a solid understanding of metadata schemas, metadata models, taxonomies, vocabulary terms, customizations, and project workflows.
Required Qualifications Skills:
* Skills relating to DAM:
o J2EE 1.5
Editing and debugging JSPs
Servlet development
Working with EJBs a plus
Experience with JPA/Hibernate a plus
o Design patterns such as MVC
o JavaScript experience a plus
o JBoss experience a plus
o SQL
Query syntax and ability to write SQL queries
Basic understanding of triggers
Some experience with Oracle a plus
o Adobe Flex development
o Expertise in building and utilizing Web services
o Integrating 3rd party tools (ie Search engine)
o Experience with Open Source Java libraries
* Familiarity with design and creation of database objects such as tables and views
* Demonstrable expertise in the development and implementation of digital asset management metadata schemas, metadata models, taxonomies, vocabulary terms, JSP customizations, and project workflows
* Experience with third-party software, digital media, and mobile content compatibility issues and file formats (e.g. QuickTime, iTunes, Podcasts, iPhone, etc.)
* Experience with third-party Content Management Systems (CMS) such as Interwoven TeamSite. (Optional)
* The ability to adhere to Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) and Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) procedures.
* The ability to write very clean, cohesive, reusable, well-documented code.
* An open-minded, flexible, team approach to projects is mandatory.
* BSC/BS/BA in Computer Science or a related field.
* At least four years* experience in software development, at least two of which were focused on development for digital asset management systems.
* At least two years’ experience with the following programming languages and technologies: Java/J2EE, JSP, Flex, AS3, XML, SQL, HTML/DHTML and Web Services.
* Experience with Oracle, Solaris, and Linux.
* Additional experience with PERL, Javascript, Cold Fusion, ASP, COM/DCOM and Stellent*s iDOC script a plus.
* Additional experience with BPEL, Stellent*s iDOC script, PERL and UNIX Shell Scripting a plus.
Additional Skills:
Understanding of database concepts
Knowledge of PL/SQL a plus
Knowledge of triggers and procedures in Oracle 10g
An understanding of cross-browser/cross-platform compatibility issues.
Demonstrable ability to handle multiple requests efficiently.
An understanding of internal and external security issues.
Collaborate and mentor other developers
