Role Summary/Purpose
The ideal candidate will demonstrate a thorough understanding of managing cross-functional architectural consulting engagements, is familiar with industry best practices logisitical management of architectural bodies of work, and the overall development of high-quality architectural artifacts. The candidate must also have demonstrated experience managing a global team with a diverse range of internal and external communities, including LEO, government, legal, compliance, business IT.

Essential Responsibilities
The GE Enterprise Security Architecture (ESA) Team is responsible for GE’s strategic architectural direction for information security. In this capacity, the team works cross-functionally and with each GE business to establish policy and best practices. The ESA Technical Project Manager is responsible for a range of internal external security efforts, programs and projects ranging from tactical responses to incidents possessing architectural engagements to multi-year security programs designed to improve the overall security posture at GE. More specific responsibilities include:

  • Manage the logistical elements of major ESA engagements, with the ability to develop comprehensive program / project plans and drive the execution of these plans to ensure project success
  • Manage the overall portfolio of ESA bodies of effort, including track architectural activities artifact development
  • Work with the ESA team to establish an acceptable Enterprise Architecture engagement model that federates effectively with existing design practices across GE
  • Design an Exception tracking process for proper risk treatment (time-bound Exception and Architectural compliance models)
  • Aid the team in managing GE’s business, operational and IT priorities, in turn facilitating the development of security architecture solutions for the company; requires assessing complex problems, analyzing options, and navigating diverse perspectives and objectives
  • Lead cross-functional teams to develop acceptable Enterprise security policies, standards specifications for GE
  • Develop a strong peer network of Business Leaders, Principal Technologists, CTOs and Enterprise Architects for their security domain, to facilitate the development Enterprise-class security solutions for the company
  • Provide thought leadership around continuous improvement of the ESA’s processes and technologies

    Qualifications/Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related technical field (or a minimum 7 years of equivalent work experience in information technology)
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in the information technology or business architecture area
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in one or more domains of information security

  • Exceptionally strong program project management skills, with the ability to facilitate complex business risk management, architecture and technical dialog among a range of actors and geographies

  • Strong organizational, facilitation and critical thinking abilities
  • Strong verbal written communication skills, with demonstrated experience around effectively speaking to all levels of the organization
