Skimming device used at gas station, state police investigating identity theft

WASHINGTON, Pa. —Pennsylvania State police in Washington County are investigating an identity theft incident and have released surveillance photos of the alleged suspects asking for the public’s help identifying them. Police say a skimming device was placed on a the card reader of a gas pump at the Lone Pine One Stop Exxon Gas Station on Amity Ridge Road in Washington. The victim’s compromised bank account information and PIN were used in July and August of 2015 at several locations in the State of California and the Pittsburgh area, police said. The device is believed to have been removed from the pump in May 2015. The investigation is ongoing. Contact Pennsylvania State Police in Washington at 724-223-5200 with information.
