Sr. PV Solar Systems Electrical Engineer
Position Summary: The Sr. PV Systems Electrical Engineer is responsible for solar system design and documentation. The Systems Engineer will conduct site surveys for PV system design, create AutoCAD drawings for proposed systems, specify materials, and work with project managers to coordinate scheduling and permitting for system installation. The PV Solar Systems Engineer may assist in other project management duties as required.

Responsibilities:
• Conduct site surveys and recommend optimal solar system designs
• Create CAD drawings of PV system for proposal, design, and permit applications
• Create and maintain contacts with local utilities and state agencies
• Assist Sales in preparing system proposals, quotations, and contracts
• Obtain business licenses and certifications as required
• Support Project Manager by providing labor and materials specifications, procurement, and scheduling
• Assist with selection of suppliers for project execution
• Ability to advise during project construction and manage multiple projects
• Perform system commissioning and startup tests
• Experience in vendor selection and coordination
Qualifications:
• BS degree in Electrical Engineering
• Prior commercial solar industry experience strongly preferred
• Familiarity with solar PV systems, electrical codes(NEC, UL,IEEE)
• Operational command of balance of system components (i.e. inverters, mounting structure, conductors/interconnect, switching/fusing)
• Excellent communication skills, both oral and written
• Experience in electrical wiring and basic construction practices
• Proficiency in MS Office, including Excel, Word, MS Project, AutoCAD drafting skills
• Proposal writing experience
• Experience in vendor selection and coordination
• Field construction experience in both electrical and mechanical installations
