Powered by Max Banner Ads A Parker County grand jury Thursday indicted a man and woman accused of buying large quantities of gasoline and diesel from North Texas gas stations with fraudulent credit cards. Kevin Demon Taylor and Tanea Shante Pennon are facing felony charges of violation of motor fuel tax requirements, credit card abuse and fraudulent use or possession of identifying information, more than five, fewer than 10 items. An investigator with the Texas Comptroller found that Taylor made several purchases with suspected counterfeit cards between June and August 2014 at multiple Murphy USA gas stations, including three trips to a single gas station in a day, according to law enforcement. During one trip, Taylor swiped 48 cards before leaving, court records allege. According toa probable cause affidavit, Murphy USA estimated Taylor stole a total of 654 gallons of gasoline worth $2,240 and 431 gallons of diesel fuel valued at $1,531 from the company. On Aug. 16, a clerk at a gas station in Azle contacted an internal investigator after recognizing the truck from an internal alert regarding the incidents.
