Your iPhone 6s wish list—what’s on it?
We’ve released—and will continue to update—our iPhone 6s FAQ and we’ve posted our iPhone 6s roundtable, covering what we know and what we want. But now we want to know what you want. If you put together your dream wish-list for Apple’s next phone, what would be on it?
If Apple sticks to their patterns and conventions, this year will be “s”-class updates—the tock to last year’s tick. That typically means:
- Better cameras
- Faster processors
- Better battery efficiency
And sometimes means:
- More memory (RAM).
- More storage.
- New color options.
Apple has also begun using new technology in other product lines that could make sense to see as well. From the Apple Watch and new MacBooks:
- Force Touch pressure sensitivity.
- Taptic Engine haptic feedback.
There are other technologies Apple already uses but that might require more profound redesigns than an “s”-class update would allow, including cramming charging coils in the casing, or a ubiquitous dark theme into iOS, or an extra model into the lineup:
- Wireless charging.
- OLED display panels.
- USB-C.
- Water resistance.
- 4-inch variant.
Then there are the wildcards and moonshots:
- Optical intelligence (PrimeSense).
- Liquid Metal something something.
- Transforms into small robot to fight evil forces of the Decepticons.
So, what would be on your iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus wish list and, more specifically, what would the details be? What kind of camera improvements? Which new color options? What wild new technologies and how would you like to see them implemented?
