Accidents leave four dead and six injured in Oman

Muscat: Four people were killed and six sustained light to serious injuries in two separate road accidents in Awabi and Suwaiq wilayats in Oman on Friday. Three nationals were charred to death in a collision in Wadi Bani Kharous of Awabi on Friday evening, while another national sustained severe injuries and was transferred to Rustaq Hospital, a Royal Oman Police (ROP) official, told the Times of Oman. It resulted in the death of one person while five others sustained light to serious injuries, said the official. The total number of people killed in road accidents last week stood at eight with 12 others suffering injuries. According to the National Centre for Information and Statistics, in 2014, there was a road accident every hour in Oman and three out of every thousand persons either died or were injured in these accidents.
