According to law enforcement, a 2006 Toyota Corolla was struck in the rear by an unknown vehicle on Highway five just eight miles north of Lebanon, Missouri. The second vehicle fled the scene of the accident.
Two people in the Toyota, 30-year-old Shelby Dalton and an 11-year-old male, both suffered injuries in the crash. The two victims were transported by Mercy EMS to Lake Regional Medical Center, where they underwent emergency care.
Troopers with the Missouri State Highway Patrol are actively investigating the crash.
