Police are asking for the public’s assistance to help identify a suspect from a credit card fraud investigation. On Oct. 11, a resident reported to police that he had lost his wallet which had had been inadvertently left on top of his car as the car was driven from Lilac Lane to Aldi Foods; both in Cedar Falls. The victim later discovered that his wallet was missing and contacted his financial institution. The victim then learned that nearly $2,400 of purchases had been made with his card in a 5 hour time period. Twelve purchases were made at seven different Waterloo businesses: Advanced Auto, Home Depot, Wal-Mart, AT&T, Kwik Star, Family Dollar, and Jim’s Food and Liquor. Police provided photos of the suspect from store surveillance cameras. The male is using a cane in several of the photos and videos that were collected as part of the investigation.
