Child porn investigation nets 18 arrests so far in Georgia

An investigation targeting people trading child pornography has resulted in 18 arrests according to the GBI.  The three month long effort dubbed “Operation Secret Guardian” began back in July, and involved law enforcement officers conducting searches looking for evidence of distribution of child pornography using the internet.

A number of local sheriff’s offices assisted the Georgia Bureau of Investigation’s Child Exploitation and Computer Crimes Unit (CEACC) and the Georgia Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force, including Columbia, Richmond, and Burke Counties.

One person from the CSRA was arrested in the investigation. Joseph Brantley, 36, from Waynesboro, was arrested and charged with Computer Pornography.
