Couple arrested for identity theft in Iredell, Mecklenburg County

A North Carolina couple is facing multiple counts of identity theft after using stolen bank cards in Mecklenburg and Iredell County, deputies say. A woman said she found 18 fraudulent uses of her debit andCREDIT CARDS in Iredell in Mecklenburg Counties after receiving her card statement. Brady Gaither and Elizabeth Virtue were identified as suspects after officials reviewed surveillance video of where the stolen cards were used. Warrants were obtained and the two were arrested. Gaither is charged with one count of identity theft. Virtue is facing financial card theft, financial card fraud and sixteen counts of identity theft. Gaither was arrested on August 22 and given a $11,000 secured bond. Virtue was arrested on Aug. 26 and given a $15,000 secured bond. The pair was placed in the Iredell County Detention Center.
