Dallas-Area Law Enforcement Ring in New Year with Identity Theft Training

TEMPE, Ariz.–(BUSINESS WIRE)–
LifeLock, Inc., the industry leader in proactive identity theft
protection, and the FBI Law Enforcement Executive Development
Association (FBI-LEEDA) are sponsoring an identity
theft summit
for Dallas-area law enforcement on Thursday, January 6,
2011. LifeLock and FBI-LEEDA’s award-winning
summit will be hosted by Sheriff Lupe Valdez and the Dallas
County Sheriff’s Office
.

The free identity theft summit comes at a time when the Federal
Trade Commission
(FTC) ranks Texas third in identity theft
nationwide and the Dallas-Fort Worth-Arlington metropolitan region 20th
among U.S. city areas in 2009. The law enforcement agents in attendance
will receive the latest information on identity theft trends, new
techniques and investigative methods.

Details for the Identity Theft Summit in
Dallas, Texas:

  • The Dallas summit will be held from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. on Thursday, January
    6
at 1402 Corinth Street, Dallas, TX 75215.

This summit will mark the fifth presentation for law enforcement in
Texas since February 2009 (previous courses have been held in Austin,
Houston, Fort Hood and Galveston).

“Our men and women who are charged with investigating identity theft
cases and making arrests are working extremely hard to keep up with the
criminals executing the crimes,” said Todd Davis, LifeLock Chairman and
CEO. “If our training summits can provide them with additional knowledge
about the crime or about how criminals are actually stealing, and using,
the information, then we have been successful. We have some of the
nation’s finest investigators leading these free seminars, and so far,
I’m proud to say, more than 3,200 law enforcement officials from more
than 1,100 different agencies have completed the course.”
