DOC teams out on Halloween to keep Del. kids safe

The DOC says on Halloween, all high risk sex offenders and sex offenders with child victims who are under supervision, have to stay inside of their home, with outside lights turned off beginning at 6:00 PM. They are not allowed to hand out candy, participate in Halloween related activities, or put out decorations.

Sex Offenders who are registered as homeless and are under DOC supervision, are required to go to a Probation and Parole Office at 5:30 PM, and stay until 9:00 PM on Saturday.

“The Department of Correction is taking reasonable precautions to ensure that children and families enjoy a safe trick-or-treating experience,” Commissioner Robert Coupe said today.
