Job Description
The Instrumentation and Control cyber security programs unit is dedicated to addressing cyber security concerns in industrial control systems for the Naval Reactors program. The successful candidate will be a highly motivated individual with an embedded systems design background and/or a cyber security background to work in a technically diverse and dynamic environment with a team of professionals responsible for all aspects of the control systems cyber security program. Some of the duties and responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to: Development of control systems security processes and requirements. Development of cyber security incident response capabilities and perform incident response team actions as assigned. Perform vulnerability assessments of existing and newly developed control systems. Represent control system security interests on cross-functional project teams. Support the certification and accreditation of new control systems.
Job Requirements
Associate:
BS degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related field from an accredited college or university.
Intermediate:
BS degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related field from an accredited college or university and a minimum of two years of relevant experience; or
MS degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering from an accredited college or university.
Both levels require:
Strong analytical/problem solving skills
Strong interpersonal skills with demonstrated ability to work with diverse/cross-functional teams
Effective communicator with strong oral and written presentation skills
Job Preferred Skills
Knowledge of and familiarity with Government security regulations and standards such as NIST SP 800-53 and 800-82.
Prior experience conducting vulnerability assessments and penetration testing.
Strong understanding and ability to apply security principles.
Knowledge of practices, designs, and technologies used to secure embedded control systems.
