A former Mountie on Vancouver Island has pleaded guilty to child pornography charges.
Dale Lee Sheets pleaded guilty to one count of possession of child pornography in a Colwood courtroom Thursday.
Sheets also pleaded guilty to charges of unauthorized possession of a firearm, and possession of a firearm other than where authorized.
The former Mountie was arrested in December 2013.
He’d been an officer with Sidney/North Saanich RCMP at the time, but was suspended and left the force shortly after his arrest.
He’ll make his next court appearance at Western Communities Provincial Court on Dec. 10.
